See Henderson Home News ,   Boulder City News ,   El Mundo (Hispanic) ,   and coming soon to such papers as "Nifty Nickel", "Shopper" for Valley Markets to reach both consumers and merchants.   We are attempting to give all resource papers a common size (2 cols (cpi) x 1) ad where cost is not prohibitive, eg, Las Vegas Review Journal.   Thank you.

SHOP LV Nifty Nickel (r)

Shop Las Vegas is not affiliated with Stephens Press
or any other print media publication.

Nifty Nickel -- one of the best classifieds in print in the valley for those that like to budget
for a 2 cpi service directory display ad at the rate of $60 per week.

Neighborhood Distribution Papers
If you feel that most of your customers are local ...

View Neighborhood Newspapers
In Las Vegas, we have many small newspapers and one of the primary (small) newspapers is in the Stephen Press family of the Las Vegas Journal and Sun.     It has a reasonable distribution and should be given serious thought for your advertising dollars.     Yes, our own reading behaviors may dictate otherwise.     If we are likely to use such papers for our kitchen garbage, well, we may not want to spend a dime on same.

The point being:   print media advertising is not cheap under any circumstances and if you are going to advertise your business at all, that you have to make some decisions that will be costly.     I didn't try the View Neighborhood Newspapers because I ran out of money for advertising Shop Las Vegas before I could.     Yes, I had a relatively small advertising budget too.

Shop Las Vegas advertisers that avail themselves of my advertising design services, I will often point to a current issue of Nifty Nickel and the View and ask them if they are in them (advertising.)     By the body language they display, I can determine whether they are pro-advertising, or looking for the best deal in price which is a dicy game.

SUMMERLIN NEWS
Summerlin News and Summerlin Home News evidently do not have websites.

Every Friday, someone throws the Summerlin Home News in my driveway, or sometimes on the lawn (that was just watered,) or wrose, the street gutter, wet with someone up the street doing soime sort of watering.

Once'n awhile, I get a "dry one," and I try to store them in "mint condition," ie, "uncirculated" -- to show prospective advertisers all across the valley what a major waste these "throw away" newspapers are.

Oh, they may be a good source for some demographics, and the Classifieds which has its days numbered with the use of such popular online list as "Craig's List."

I know.     I tried every major "rag" in the valley and beyond, eg, Boulder City "Shopper," found in the racks of supermarkets there, in Boulder City, and parts of Henderson, south.

Many business owners, such as an informal encounter with the owner and wife of Fanco at Southern Terrace on the southwest side of town doing what my wife and I were doing:   home shopping, spends thousands of dollars in a month having inserts printed and distributed by the local newspaper or marketing media delivered to your home mailbox; campaign:   "Two for one offer."

As someone that spent the majority of his software consulting life on word-of-mouth, or personal referrals, I still like such marketing techniques as good customer service, and business cards handed out "like water."     You see, many a home service provider, such as landscaper, leaves their (business) card at neighbor homes where they just finished a job.     It makes sense; your potential customers get to see what fine work you did for your neighbor and dollar for penny, you can't beat the print cost (nor the free distribution, just your time.)

As someone in the advertising business, I watch like a hawk the kind of results certain media gets, and one of the worse for many small businesses is to get sucked into the hype for television advertising -- or worse, accessing the hotel tourist market when you are far from our Strip.

Television Advertising

No, Shop Las Vegas does not engage in television advertising and for good reason:   we could hardly offer the priceline we do, if we did.     You can not do everything, or expect everything when our focus is on the internet media and the search engine environment that really does help our advertisers having their own page.
